No need to back off from the truth. There are reliable, non-religious, historical sources that indicate "the Prophet" oversaw several mass killings of unarmed men. He was also involved in slave trafficking and was a pedophile, having "raped" a 9 year old girl by the name of Alisha.

We spent a whole semester in HS going over different religions. And I remember being told that the most of the biographies of Muhammad and 'information' about him is majorly skewed because of medieval Christendom mainly. He told us that the Koran is probably the best place for info about Muhammad.

I don't know enough about the religion to have an opinion on it really but i don't think it's fair that other religions hate Islamic people so much for the things they say but the same things are said about Islamic people and they are expected to not get mad ??? It's not right

Wow! What a moron!?!?! I'm sorry, I usually try not to be insulting, but that is one dumb statement there.......

Talking about the instructor of course, nothing personal towards you.

You won't even get an arguement from an informed Muslim historian concerning Ayesha (I didn't check my spelling before), only excuses as to why it wasn't so bad that he had sex with a nine year old.

Early Muslim biographers such as Ibn Ishaq, Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari, and Ibn Sa'd al-Baghdadi readily admitted many of these actions.

Either your instructor was ill-informed (see shouldn't have been teaching the subject), was being overly politically correct (see shouldn't have been teaching the course), or was an idiot (see liar).

He is and was pretty intelligent, but the cocky type though..so you might be right about him with those views. I think he meant it more as...its hard to find somewhat modern and factual info on Muhammad because of the controversy about him and the Koran would be your best bet for a source of info because it tells a few things about his life and his teachings about the word of God of course. For the most part, we talked about Christianity and Judaism...not as much on Islam.
